FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT ANNUAL FUND GIFTS

What is the Annual Fund?

The Annual Fund is a fundraising campaign to obtain donations that will support in part general operations, artistic programs and building maintenance.  These donations help provide the critical funds to keep Miller Symphony Hall running  smoothly year round, from the cost of utilities and insurance to office equipment and building systems.

The Fund also helps offsets the gap between ticket sales and the actual costs of producing artistic programs, such as concerts, HD broadcasts and other unique events.

If it’s an Annual Fund – Why Do It Twice A Year?

It is a campaign for the funds that Allentown Symphony needs to operate for one 12-month period.  In other words, the two drives (calendar year end and fiscal year end) will cover a significant portion of annual funding needs—our operating expenses for one year. The Association’s fiscal year begins June 1 and ends May 31.

What are ASA Education Programs?

Almost a dozen programs touch more than 13,000 individuals each year, from the Youth Concert to El Sistema Lehigh Valley, a daily afterschool program for children at Roosevelt Elementary in East Allentown. These programs inspire a love of music that lasts a lifetime.

What is Musician Chair Sponsorship?

Musician Sponsorships directly defray the costs of the musician fees ASO pays to the members of the orchestra for rehearsal and performances.  Chair Sponsorships start at $1,000 for Section Players.  Please click here to see what Chair Sponsorships are available or email Geoffrey Harrington, Director of Development, for a list of available chairs.

What is Symphony Society?

With your gift of $1,500, you’ll become part of the leadership group of supporters of the Allentown Symphony and enjoy a more personal interaction with arts and culture at Miller Symphony Hall. Receive exclusive access to pre-concert and intermission receptions, unique events, and to our musicians.
