2021 Honorary Ball Chairs
VINCE & MICHELLE SORGI
We are delighted to serve as Honorary Chairs for the Annual Symphony Ball as we celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Allentown Symphony!
Under the direction of Maestro Diane Wittry, the Allentown Symphony has grown into an award-winning orchestra receiving international accolades. We are proud to have this world class orchestra right here in the Lehigh Valley.
We are writing to you today to ask you to sponsor this year’s Symphony Ball.
This season, the Symphony Ball will take place virtually. Please join us on February 6, 2021 for
A Very Special Virtual Celebration of Music 2021. Music brings so much joy, and enriches our emotional and physical well-being. Listening to music increases happiness, decreases stress, reduces depression and strengthens learning and memory – all of which are vital to our community right now.
Covid has required us all to think “outside the box.” In October, the Symphony Ball Committee leapt into action to create a unique and safe Classic Cars & Concerts event at The NB Center for American Automotive Heritage. It was a one-of-a-kind event. Participants stayed in their cars, drove through a concession area and parked to enjoy a Covid-safe Symphony concert on the large drive-in screen. It was a wonderful night!
The Allentown Symphony Association, which owns and operates Miller Symphony Hall, has enriched the Lehigh Valley since 1951. The Symphony Ball is its largest fundraising event of the year. Proceeds support the Symphony’s education programs including El Sistema Lehigh Valley, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this season!
El Sistema Lehigh Valley provides free daily music instruction and academic tutoring to students K-12. The purpose of the program is to create social change by teaching at-risk children important life-long skills.
When schools closed in March, the Allentown Symphony education team quickly created an online learning program for students. Parents were thrilled to have this program as it was one of the only positive forces during a particularly dark period when school and social activities had come to a halt.
We need your help. Covid has posed so many challenges for the Allentown Symphony. Thanks to the dedicated and generous support of donors like you, the Symphony has found ways to meet these challenges to continue its important work.
The Allentown Symphony has re-imagined and reprogrammed its season to deliver Covid-safe concerts. For the safety of the musicians and audience, a smaller orchestra will perform live on stage at Miller Symphony Hall for a reduced, socially-distanced audience. Concerts will be live streamed and available on-demand.
Please support the Allentown Symphony and El Sistema Lehigh Valley by sponsoring this year’s Symphony Ball. Sponsorship opportunities are enclosed for your review. In addition, please also consider providing an item for our online auction. For more information on ways you can provide support, please contact Lucy Bloise at 610-248-8263 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Your support gives the joy of music and arts education to children throughout the Lehigh Valley.
