Allentown Band Side by Side with Talented High School Students

Col. Arnald Gabriel, guest conductor (retired), U.S. Air Force Band and guest trumpet soloist and former Canadian Brass member, Ronald Romm, fifty-five (55) top high school musicians from 16 schools within Lehigh, Berks, Schuylkill, Northampton, Pike, Monroe and Carbon Counties, will perform “Side by Side” with the Allentown Band in concert at Miller Symphony Hall, 23 N. Sixth Street, Allentown, PA on May 5 at 7:30 PM.

Participating student musicians are selected based on their exceptional talent and recommendation of their respective Band Directors.

The Side By Side concert and masterclass session advance a proud tradition that began 17 years ago dedicated to comprehensive youth education and youth performance experiences. The Band’s educational programming actively makes the arts accessible within public education and presents dynamic opportunities to expose students to culturally significant, music-based educational experiences.

Ronald Romm is a musician who has appeared worldwide on the stages of almost all major concert venues, music festivals, and international music conferences. Now on the faculty of Illinois University, he is widely acknowledged as one of the pre-eminent trumpeters, teachers and clinicians of today. Col. Arnald Gabriel, Conductor Emeritus, USAF Band in Washington, DC and Professor Emeritus George Mason University will share conducting duties with Ronald Demkee. Col. Gabriel is a legend in the band world.
