Karel Mark Chichon conducts Puccini’s timeless classic, Madama Butterfly. This tragic love story follows the lives of U.S. soldier, Lieutenant B.F. Pinkerton, and geisha woman, Cio-Cio-San. Kristine Opolais returns to the Met stage after last performing as Mimi in La Bohème and Roberto Algana returns yet again to the Met, being seen previously in roles such as Werther, Don Carlo, Faust Don José and many more. The two provide vocal virtuosity and dramatic perfection as the two star-crossed lovers in this tragic and beautiful love story.
